My early studies in composition and piano were at N.Z.S.M. (New Zealand School of Music) on Symonds St in Auckland in 1975. I was one of its first students and spent three years there before moving to Sydney, Australia.
String Quartet “From Another Time”

Written in New Zealand during the summer of 1978, revised in 2003 in Salt Lake City, first performed in June of 2004 during the recording of the below demo. Composed for the unusual string quartet combination of two Violas, Violin and Violoncello. (A version for standard quartet is also available.)

Composed in 2000 as an 80th birthday present for friend and collegue Martin Zwick who held the principal clarinet chair in the Utah Symphony for 27 years during the 1940's, 50’s and 60’s, under Maurice Abravanel.

(The Just Plain Folks Music Awards claim they have become the largest music awards show in the world with more than 20,000 albums and more than 250,000 songs entered. They claim that they are 25 times bigger than the Grammys. The performance of Martin’s Saraband by INISH made it as far as the finals in 2004.)
