- 1997 – 2005: Owned and operated a small independent recording studio in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Engineered, edited and mixed various album projects, demos and miscellaneous sessions for various instrumentalists and folk
ensembles. Regular clients included classical guitarist/composer Michael Lucarelli (www.lucarelli.com) and multi
instrumentalist/composer Dave Sharp (www.idlewildrecordings.com).
- 1995 – 1997: Worked as an assistant at LA East recording studios S.L.C. Utah.
Assisted in the orchestral and ensemble recordings of soundtracks to films, film trailers, TV movies, advertisements and independent
artist album projects. Sessions of note included the TV dramas: Touched by an Angel which included performances by BB King, Dr.
John, Al Jarreau, Al Hirt, and Della Reese among top L.A. session musicians; Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary
Journeys. Films included Surviving Picasso staring Anthony Hopkins.
Other
- 2002 – 2004: Founding member of Celtic Stew, a non-profit group that puts on an annual Celtic Music Festival.
Duties includedstage manager & fund raising .
- November 2001: After the attack on the World Trade Centre in N.Y.
Helped a friend organize a benefit concert to raise money for the Children of Afghanistan. As stage manager he coordinated the 40+
acts across the full size theatrical stage of the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah. Each act performed a seven-minute set. The
line up comprised of: a 40 piece choir, a string quartet, various classical performers and singers some with piano accompaniment, jazz
ensembles, folk ensembles, folk singers, various duos, dancers, plus Celtic and bluegrass bands. The concert ran non-stop for 4 & a
1/2 hours. I also performed in two of the acts.
