I Saw a
Clown

I saw a mountain without a
summit, and a river with no-where to go.
There was a stage and nobody
on it. I was an actor without a show.
Met an eagle afraid of
heights, talked with an owl in broad daylight,
Gazed at a clear sky that
wasnÕt blue,
And saw myself without you.
Vs 2
I saw a flower that wouldnÕt
open, and a snowflake with nowhere to fall.
In a blazing hot summer that
had no Autumn, I was the wind but no one would call.
Heard a bee that could only
hum, walked in a desert that had no sun,
Woke on a mud-bridge in the
morning dew
And found myself without
you.

And in the night when sleep
wonÕt come, IÕve seen the clown that I had become.
I saw a future with no
tomorrow. I was a joke, with only sorrow.
Vs 3
In a dream that had no
vision, I met a tiger that had no stripes.
These things I saw but
without recognition, as I sat by a fire that gave no light.
Heard a bell without any
ring, lived in a winter that had no Spring,
I was a bird whose wings had
been broken.
I saw myself without you.
